Wheelers open 10, a new PB

Mr Woodward happily reports…..

Nike the Greek god of victory must have been looking down on me on Saturday for the Crawley Wheelers 10 on the G10/57, the first open event I have ridden for 3 months.

Warm, sunny and windless all added up to the perfect morning for a good ride and to top it all off I was number 87 and thus had fairly late start time. I was not to be disappointed as by the finish I recorded my lifetime best time at 23:23.

Paul Blackmore was the second representative of the EGCC who stormed in with a very quick 21:45.

The event was won by an on form Keith Coffey in a time of 20:27. D Harrison was a happy second as I heard him whooping just after crossing the line with a time of 20:33, good enough for a second place.
