Four riders from East Grinstead CC turned out for John Cole’s Tooting BC Hilly 21. The rolling GS/334 two lap course tackles the back lanes running north and south between Bletchingley and Outwood.
The weather was very kind, sunny and mild and not too windy. The only difficulty was the terrain which for some (!) proved something of an obstacle. The finish line placed at the top of the final climb back into Bletchingley at least provided an incentive to finish strongly. Richard Blackmore was on hand (time keeping) to encourage the riders over the line !
As it happened Steve Dennis blew the field away winning by more than six minutes, not too far away from the course record.
