Another stonking win for Mr Dennis.
Steve added another CB (Course Best) to his tally of wins this year by romping home in 50:38 to claim top spot of the SCCU 25 on the Crawley – Horsham course.
2nd went to Martin Williamson of London Dynamo with 52:53 and 3rd was Rob Pelham (Lewes Wanderers) with 53:15.
As scratch man, Steve was last off at 9AM and encountered Mr Woodward whilst riding out to the HQ. Unluckily Rich had punctured on the way up Tollgate hill and was nursing the bike back when Steve stopped to help. Unfortunately they weren’t able to sort a repair so Grinstead were down to 3 men (Ted was a DNS).
Didn’t have a chance to catch up with Chris Kitchenham but he put in a very respectable 58:27, hopefully a better time that what he thought he might do leading up to the event.
At the blunt end of the field, Mr Anton bimbled home in 1:15:48, 25:10 slower than Steve and good enough for 3rd from last place.
It’s perhaps prudent at this junction to point out that Mr A chose to ride the event on his full susser, set to bounce to mode.
There’s been some amusement on the Time Trialling Forum http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=49950 on said folly and a Garmin plot of this perambulation can be found here http://connect.garmin.com/activity/47689199.
