Conditions had eased somewhat by the morning although there was still
a threat of rain which fortunately held off.
Shame about the road conditions around the Alfold, Dunsfold,
Plaistow, Loxwood course which had to be completed twice.
Paul Winkley off number 28 and complaining about the pot holes,
hauled his ‘huge carcass’ around in 1.10.52, next up 20 minutes later
was Alan Starsmeare who recorded 1.12.37. Andy Seltzer number 67 (
incidentally PW’s two up partner for next weeks ESCA event ) romped
home 1.07.55. Ted Boorman and Angela Nainby were DNS, so it was all
down to SD to pull out the stops.
Riding full bling ( pointy hat / aero
wheels ), he finished in 57.49, enough for 2nd place again on the
day and 2nd place overall. EGCC also bagged first place in the team
award (SD, AS, PW) .
Despite falling off on a corner, Peter Tadros of In-Gear RT won again
in 57.21.
