I have been putting off doing any serious efforts most of the winter and needed to test myself so I entered the SCCU 25M TT April 22nd
on the G25/53 course. I have slowly been building up my training again after some problems with my balance caused by Meniere’s disease so not sure how well I would do against my goal for the year, which is 1:04.
It was a cold start but sunny and dry, so all was well. I got round in 1:09:34 which was fine for me but shows I have some work to do if I am to get down to 1:04. It did get me motivated so will probably enter another 25 mid-May.
Martin Williamson from London Dynamo won the event and was backed up well by his London Dynamo team mates, James Stratton and David Webborne who took the team award.
Emma Craddock from South Downs Bikes won the Women’s award and the Fastest Veteran on CTT Target time was Mel Roberton. There was a tie for the Handicap award between Jamie Hill, Redhill CC and Ben Swann Horsham Cycling. Women’s Handicap was won by Helen Bullimore.
