Normal order restored

Normal order was restored at the top of the East Grinstead Cycling Club evening series last night (17th May) with Steve Dennis retaking the top spot after Paul Blackmore had won last week’s event. The third of the season’s ten mile time trials was held in calm and sunny conditions, ideal for fast times around the Horne-based circuit. Dennis, on his bright yellow carbon fibre C4 time trial bike finished the ten miles in 23 minutes and 38 seconds.

Croydon’s Geoffrey Butler Cycles team were out in force, and clearly taking the event seriously with disc wheels and aero helmets, led by Pete Wise who broke the 24 minute barrier for the first time and took second place on 23m53s. Last week’s winner Paul Blackmore was relegated to third on 24m37 while fourth was Mike Anton with a strong 25m18s edging out GB Cycles’ Colin Truelove by a mere two seconds.
