Four entrants from EGCC faced the timekeeper for this one, a reasonable morning with a slight headwind on the return leg.
Angela Nainby off early recorded a very respectable 24.55 which remained unbeatable to win the Ladies prize. Paul Winkley next up came home in 24.08, his best time at this distance for some years.
Ute Woodward in her first open event [I think] had one simple mission to beat the 30 minute barrier, this she did with a 29.39 – mission accomplished! Her husband Richard came home with a fine 23.58.
Unfortunately for him it could turn out to be an expensive morning with talk of a new set of wheels for his wife as reward for her efforts!
