The heavy rain of the day had stopped around 4ish and the roads dried up surprisingly quickly though the evening was overcast and cool.
With the less than desirable conditions, numbers were well down on last week but a total of 10 lined up for Chris’ countdown.
With Team Hardisty absent I rode around with Gemma to give advice and encouragement. Despite Gemma thanking me and saying it was useful, she went a minute slower than last week so that’s the end of my coaching rides!
Visitor Harry Franklin of De Ver Cycles blitzed round the course on his road bike to pip Mark B by 18 seconds. Another newcomer, George Ellis, rode his first ever time trial and clocked 31:48. Even more impressively he rode on a trike, no mean feat with the number of sharp corners on G10/39.
1 Harry Franklin 23:49
2 Mark Bashford 24:07
3 Ben Crick 25:50
4 Simon Neave 26:22
5 Paul Winkley 27:40
6 Luke de Quay 27:48
7 Vince Edwards 30:38
8 Jeremy Winkley 30:55
9 George Ellis 31:43
10 Gemma Hayes 31:57
