Evening 10

Mike Anton writes…

The opening 10 of the 2009 series got underway with a good turn out from club and visitors alike.

Whilst the weather was dry and bright, the speed with which I’d ridden out from Crawley spoke volumes on the strength and direction of the wind.

My fears were echoed by others who weren’t looking forward to the trips down the back straight, straight into a decidedly unpleasant SW wind. As it was, it wasn’t quite as bad as I feared and I was pleased to hold Mr Dennis off for nearly 22 mins though he was on his road bike!

Alan Mac putting a stonking effort on what can best be described as a hack bike. If he put in a long 25 on such a wagon, we need to get him out racing more.

Carla was our only lady and whilst I doubt she was overly pleased with her time, she’s got her title contest off to a good start.

One of our latest additions, Danial Farmer also put in a very good time, with, if my record checking is up to scratch, a 1:12 improvement on last year. At this rate, he should smash through the 30 min barrier very soon.
