The Dennis’ extend their lead
Tuesday saw another fine evening with seventeen riders facing the time keepers.
Carla Dennis was first off and as the only lady again, extended her lead in the women’s points competition.
The second rider was Gary Williams, on a visit from Spain and competing on his mountain bike. His time of 28:20 was very commendable considering his choice of machine.
Off number seven was Steve Dennis and his winning time of 22:45 would have seen him passing Mrs Dennis some two miles from the finish.
Slightly further down the start sheet were father and son, Kevin and Mark Bashford. Mark got the better of his dad by 1:41 but we’re sure there won’t have been any domestic trouble in the Dennis or Bashford households as a result of these times.
Ben Hardisty continues to improve with another course best of 26:30. New club member Roy Brown also had a strong first ride, narrowly missing out on an ‘evens’ 20mph average time, coming in with 30:11.
