Members of the EGCC enjoyrd another glorious weekend of racing in the
10 and 25 miles time trial promoted for the East Sussex CA.
Saturdays 10 from East Hoathly to Boship and back. Saw only Ted
Boorman compete from the club, the winner being Pete Tadros of In-Gear
RT in an excellent 20.48.
Sundays 25 was a bit better represented with six EGCC riders on the
start card, but two riders failed to meet the time keeper, Ruth Harris
and Ted Boorman.
First rider to start was Richard Woodward off No. 32, taking advantage
of the near windless conditions but still wearing a flappy training top
he was only a few seconds off his previous weeks PB with 1.1.23. Next
on the road was Alan Starsmeare ,who might have been disapointed with
his 1.10.35.
Off no. 60, Steve Dennis rode a solid race into the rising wind out to
the turn at Boship then pulled out the stops on the return leg to clock
53.27 – a PB for this course and enough for 2nd place.
The last EGCC rider to face thetime keeper was Andy Seltzer, off no.66
and riding a new TT bike, Andy finished in a respectable 1.1.27.
