With most of the Oxted crew taking the evening off to ride over to Croydon to watch the Pearl Izumi Tour series, thirteen riders turned out to battle the strong SW wind. It was at least sunny and the circuit was for the most part dry.
New member Derek had a puncture on his first event and on this, his second ride on the circuit, managed to go off course – third time lucky Derek ! Meanwhile a strong ride from Mark Bashford was enough to win the event with Steve Dennis also riding under 25 minutes on a fixed wheel steed – chapeau. Adam also crossed under the 25 minute barrier. Youngsters Mikey and Nick put in solid rides on a difficult evening, which bodes well for their season.
