On the club’s first evening event of the year, 10 starters were rewarded with fine weather. On a beautifully sunny evening the riders were met with a 15 mph easterly, but on this Horne course if there has to be wind, then this is the most favourable direction for it to come from.
The most notable results came from Paul Winkley who clocked a sub 26 for the first time in a while, his tortuous winter training schedule paying dividends. Also Steve Rollason came back to some form with a short 27. Ben Houston fresh from his cycling adventure in Texas (see here) managed to get round despite losing one of his aero bars on the first lap.
Robin Johnson, a guest from the Brighton Mitre club enjoyed his first outing on the Horne circuit. Andy Seltzer brought out his new Fort TT bike and clocked a very solid 25:09. Steve Dennis came home in first with 23:07.
