Our club marked a hugely significant occasion this week with the handover of the responsibilities for lead Timekeeper a true changing of the guard .
Richard Blackmore along with Chris Daniels have been instrumental over many years in making our club TT events possible and keeping it all going through all weathers or thick and thin .
We are in great debt to Richard and his contribution to this vital part of the club’s calendar which has also been a key element of the club’s identity and racing heritage .
On a wonderful June sunny evening we were delighted as a club along with our friends from Oxted to honour Richard and say thank you before the start of the TT in the Ashdown forest .
We cannot thank Richard enough for his contribution and we have been privileged to have Richard guide us over the years and building a foundation for the future .
Richard will be relocating to the south coast for some long overdue rest and relaxation .
However, you will be very pleased to hear that Richard will remain our club Treasurer and continue to provide much valued council and wise governance to the committee on behalf of all of our club membership .
Chris Daniels will also continue to provide guidance with our weekly TT activity as the season moves forward .
We will plan a significant formal future club gathering once current restrictions are lifted to mark the clubs 71-year history where we will meet as one and honour Richard along with others who have helped build the club over the generations .
