At 4:30 I got up to ride the Q10/19 course, the Tonbridge bypass. This
was a lay in compared to Brian Philips who was up at 3:30 to drive down
from Suffolk.
Brian thought it was a good idea to ride this race on his
was to visiting his parents in Rye but I suspect he spent the rest of
the day asleep after a great effort in the race which gave him 8th place
overall with a time of 21:21.
I rode my second fastest time at 24:37 so
I wasn’t too disappointed and Ted Boorman rode in at 24:52. The event
was won by Pete Tadros with the fast time of 19:53.

I rode the Catford 10 on Saturday
having got up at 3am for the privilege! It was a good morning with
little wind and apart from hyper reving down the ski slope on my 101
inch fixed at the start I felt the gear was about right. Its always a
struggle up to the turn no matter what gear.
I did 21:21 but I don’t
know what time the winner did because I was off early and didn’t want to
hang around.
Richard Woodward and Ted Boorman also rode but I didn’t see
Ted. Richard did a 24 I believe. Apart from that not much to report.
Will try to make it to one of the club events later in the year.
