Sunday 25th saw EGCC fielding 4 riders in a field of 70 in the VTTA TT on the G25/89 course. Paul (Winkley) was first off for EGCC at number 23 and completed the course with a time of 1:06:20. I started 40 minutes later and progressed at a good pace towards the turn at the Boship roundabout but always conscious that the return leg is usually into a headwind.
To my delight this was a rare day when no such wind existed :-)) I was also surprised that no one had caught me and this remained so until the last 5 miles. I came in with a new personal best time of 1:02:16, 35 seconds faster that my previous best.
Ted (Boorman) and Alan (Starsmeare) were both DNS and missed out on a good day. The event was won by Mike Coyle of VC Etoile with a time of 53:28 and Harry Fetherstone taking the honours in the vets standard event in 1:04:00, +20:22.
