Still without a time for 25 miles to put on his CTT entry form Ben Houston tried again to complete the distance, this time in North Kent. Heavy rain and strong winds meant that there was a chance the weather would prevent the event going ahead, but luckily conditions abated enough for the riders to safely proceed.
However, overnight roadworks had appeared on the course right after the start. The organiser had no choice but to move the start and reduce the distance to 24.5 miles.
Ben recorded 1.07.34, and will be looking to complete the full 25 miles at the third attempt in the near future! The event was won both on scratch and standard by Reg Smith (DCB Kent) in 54.44 just edging Phil Bull (VC Elan) second in 54.54
