Saturday morning Ted Boorman and myself were down to start the Southern Counties C.U 10 on the Rusper/Crawley course. Ted must have over slept as he didn’t make it to the start leaving me the sole representative of EGCC.
The weather wasn’t promising with a breeze coming from the west but if there’s going to be wind it favours the early starters. A few minutes later, back at the HQ I was amazed to see the results. I had achieved a PB with 23:31 exactly 2 minutes slower than the winner Keith Coffey.
Better still I was equal first in the handicap rankings with A Ridsdale from Epsom CC. It’s nice to get your start money back for once.
