Six members of the EGCC were in action at the weekend in the 15th
edition of the SCCU sporting 10 and 25 miles TT.
Saturday afternoons 10 was run off in very windy conditions which made
the going very tough in parts of the course especially the A29 leg from
Oakwood Hill to Ockley, but at least the rain held off.
First off number 9 was Ruth Harris who braved the elements, followed in
hot pursuit by partner Alan Starsmear off 4 minutes behind. There was
then along gap of 55 minutes before Ted Boorman faced the time keeper
and just to prove the conditions were far from esay, Ted who would
normally record a mid 27minute ride returned 29.36.
Steve Dennis off
number 80 obviously found the conditions to his liking crossing the
finish line in 23.34 enough for 2nd place on the day.
The winner was Peter Tadros of In-Gear RT with another stroming ride
and course record to boot with 22.40.
Dennis’s ride put him in good stead for a top overall position to be
decided in Sunday mornings 25.
