Ride bikes. Have fun. Feel good.

Revolution Series #5

Event 5 of the Revolution Series took place at the Olympic Velodrome in East London.

The Saturday afternoon session consisted of the Elite Championship Mens Points Race won by the very impressive Australian Glenn O’Shea with Germain Burton second.

The Elite Women’s races (points race and elimination race) were dominated by Laura Trott. The UCI Sprinting flying laps and heats were also run.

The session also included an Elite Championship Derny Race with two heats leading to a final won by Peter Kennaugh.

This racing helped build up the excitement with the session culminating with the Sarah Storey UCI Hour Record attempt. It was a valiant effort falling short by only 0.5km (approx 2 laps). The record she was chasing was set at altitude in Mexico, so hopefully her ride will stand as a ‘sea level’ record.

All in all a great afternoon’s entertainment.
