This is an open invitation to join us in a club session booked at Preston Park, 12:30-2-30 Saturday March 30 2019
The fee will be only £5 a head to cover venue hire.
For anyone not familiar with the venue it is just off the A23 on the way into Brighton. Rideable in a couple of hours or so. Parking is fine too.
The cycle track there is about 600m round with 4 corners, two being slightly banked for safety. The surface is good.
This is a ROAD BIKE session. Bring your own, none available for hire.
The session will NOT be coached or supervised in a formal sense, all riders take part at their own risk – but it IS a great chance to safely develop group riding skills, whether road or track.
The venue is used for regular circuit races in the summer and for a local youth development squad. Here is a Youtube clip of Redhill CC using the track a couple of years back so you can see what it’s like:
A typical session would go through the familiar 4 stages of Warm up (pairs, club steady pace, half lap changes)/Skills (e.g. pace line through and off)/ Burn up (Ozzy pursuit or team TT/ Pizza.
There are public loos elsewhere in the park. If there is enough demand for the session I can contact the cricket club for access to their changing rooms and loos.
Let me know by email if you’re ‘IN’. I need enough riders to break even so a prompt response would be nice.
p.s. note: if successful I’ve provisionally booked a second for April 13.
