Horsham Cycling 10 TT
25 June 2016 06:30am
With 6 EGCC riders down on the start sheet we had the biggest team entry on the day for Saturday mornings Horsham – Crawley and back 10 mile time trial.
Conditions seemed good, with a bit of tailwind on the uphill outbound leg to Crawley, and everyone was optimistic about the morning.
Although the conditions were not the best seen on that course this year, and a couple of folks lost momentum due to traffic at the Pease Pottage turnoff, everyone was more or less pleased with their times. Special mention to Adam who recorded yet another personal best and has opened up a big lead in the club’s season long Middlemarkers contest already. Good news for Adam’s competitors is that he has no chance of being a Middlemarker in future!
Simon McNamara (South Downs Bikes) took the win in 20:12 from Tom Pritchard (Hampshire RC) who recorded 20:23 on his first visit to the course, and South Downs Bikes (S McNamara, S Bettis, K Plummer) took the team award with East Grinstead CC (C Yates, B Houston, A Grange) in 2nd place.
Christian Yates 21:27
Ben Houston 22:11
Adam Grange 22:38
Ben Crick 23:49
Paul Winkley 25:07
Ben Hardisty DNS (A)
Thanks to the Horsham Cycling team for a well organised event, and to Richard Blackmore for finish timekeeping duty on the day.
