Steve Dennis won the sixth round of the East Grinstead Cycling Club’s evening time trial series, but it’s getting closer at the top. Paul Blackmore, the only other winner of a round this year, posted a sub-24 minute time around the ten mile course at Horne, 40 seconds down on Dennis. Meanwhile Pete Wise was left wondering what might have been as he missed his start slot and posted a time of 24 minutes and 11 seconds.
Colin Truelove from Croydon’s Geoffrey Butler Cycles team was fourth, ahead of Mark Bashford in only his second ride of the year, who managed to scrape ahead of Ted Boorman by a second in 25m39s.
