Downhill Championships

Richard Blackmore writes…

In the EGCC Downhill last Sunday I can advise that Richard Woodward won it again (for the 5th time). With a southerly wind behind them 3 riders went round into the main road and RW went almost to the pub.

The big surprise was Paul Winkley who was determined to take it seriously this year with all the right gear and he literally stopped 15cms from Richard’s position. I suppose really I should have made it a tie, but RW was a whisker ahead.

Simon Neave came 3rd and Peter Bedingfield also just made it to the main road. In last place, also for the 5th year running I think, was Steve Dennis.
