Steve Dennis is looking uncatchable at the top of the East Grinstead Cycling Club evening series after another victory on the 10 mile Horne circuit yesterday evening (Tuesday 2nd of August). Dennis beat his closest rival Paul Blackmore by a 46 second margin on a pleasant evening with only light winds to trouble the 12-man field.
Steve Price beat Mike Anton, often the ‘best of the rest’ this year and leader of the senior category (under 40s) into fourth place, while Paul Winkley and Richard Woodward rounded out the top six. With only three more ten mile time trials left, and the end of season hillclimb, attention is turning to the various championships at stake. Dennis looks unnassailable for the overall title and is leading the veterans competition, while Mike Anton is also looking a cert for the senior points.
